BANANA TURNOVER
INGREDIENTS:
2 ripe bananas
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 package refrigerated puff pastry (2 sheets)
1 egg, beaten
Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Peel the bananas and slice them into thin rounds.
Place the banana slices in a bowl and toss them with lemon juice to
prevent browning.
In a separate small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground
cinnamon.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out one sheet of puff pastry to a
thickness of about 1/8 inch.
Cut the pastry into 4 squares.
Place a spoonful of the banana slices in the center of each pastry
square.
Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the bananas.
Fold each pastry square in half diagonally to create a triangle shape.
Use a fork to press down and seal the edges of the turnovers.
Transfer the turnovers to the prepared baking sheet.
Repeat the process with the remaining sheet of puff pastry and banana
slices.
Brush the tops of the turnovers with beaten egg, which will give them a
golden color when baked.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the
turnovers are puffed and golden brown.
Remove the turnovers from the oven and let them cool slightly on the
baking sheet.
Optional: Dust the turnovers with powdered sugar before serving for an
extra touch of sweetness.
Serve the warm Banana Turnovers as a delicious dessert or a sweet
breakfast treat.
Enjoy their flaky pastry and the warm, caramelized bananas inside.
These Banana Turnovers are a delightful way to enjoy the natural
sweetness of bananas in a convenient and handheld form.
They can be enjoyed on their own or paired with a scoop of vanilla ice
cream for an extra indulgence.
Enjoy banana turnover !
