Greek meatballs AKA Keftedes

These Greek meatballs AKA Keftedes or Keftedakia are delicious, juicy, seasond with fresh herbs and baked to perfection.

INGREDIENTS: (for 24 bite-size meatballs): 

800gr ground beef

2 medium onions (finely chopped) 

4 garlic cloves (finely chopped) 

Half a cup of chopped fresh mint

Half bunch of chopped fresh cilantro

2 tbsp red wine vinegar

2 tbsp olive oil

⅔ cup breadcrumbs 

2 tsp salt

1 tsp cumin 

Freshly ground black pepper

2 eggs 






METHOD: 

- In a large bowl add the beef and the rest of the ingredients. 

- Using your hands, mix everything together for about 5 min until all the ingredients are well combined. 

- Cover the bowl and let it rest in the fridge for about 30 min. 

- Portion the meat mixture onto a large baking sheet and roll into meatballs. 

- Brush each meatball with a good amount of olive oil. 

- Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°C for 18-20 min or until the meatballs are golden brown on top.
