Stuffed cabbage


My family is always happy to eat 

STUFFED CABBAGE 💗

STEP 1

1 to 2 medium cabbage 

2 pounds ground beef( prefer chuck )

1/2 cup short grain rice

2 medium onions chopped very fine

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon garlic 

1 teaspoon sweet paprika 

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

STEP 2

Tomato sauce recipe to cover rolls

2 tablespoons tomato paste

3 cloves garlic chopped finely 

1 cup tomatoes diced small

2 bay leaves

3 cups broth

3 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon soup mix( vegeta)

1/2 teaspoon black pepper 

1 teaspoon sweet paprika 

1/2 teaspoon sugar

Heat oil, add paste,  tomatoes and garlic. Sauté a few minutes then add spices and broth.

Set aside until your cabbage rolls are ready to cook.




STEP 3

1. Stuffing Cabbage rolls

2. Mix ground beef and spice ingredients set aside until needed.

3. Core one head of cabbage, pour two cups water into a 5 quart cooking pot, place cabbage core side down. Cover and steam for 20 minutes.

4. Start taking leaves off.

5. With a pairing knife cut the top part of the leaf that is by the core.

6. Place a three tablespoons of filling in the middle of the cabbage leaf, roll and place side in the middle like an envelope and roll. 

7. Place your rolls in a cooking pot, layer at a time.

8. Pour tomato sauce over the rolls. Cover and let simmer for one hour or until rolls are tender.
