The niceness of this meal monate wa gona o dira too much
Anyways here's what I am going to say-those who listen will listen:
The secret to a great boerwors stew is great quality wors wors stew doesn't need any complex ingredients...same goes for boerwors rolls...it really doesn't matter that much what recipe you have in my opinion.
Just make sure the wors quality is good and you will never be disappointed.
Usually I go for wors with atleast 90% meat -and with simple spices added - they are usually great and much meatier.
Anyways, I will share the recipe once my stomach is no longer feels over stretched from all the eating I have just done.
Ingredients:
Wors pieces - used about 500g (remember to use good quality wors if you can- its the secret to a good wors stew-I' have shared 3 of my favorite wors brands to date in my stories )
1/4 medium Onion diced
Bell peppers(1/4 medium each - red, yellow, green)
1 Tomato diced
1 tsp Crushed garlic and Chillis [you can still use just crushed garlic)
1 tsp curry powder
1 tsp Chicken stock (I used the powder one)
Bay leaves (2 large or equivalent)
1/2 tsp Spanish smoked paprika (you can get away with normal paprika or no paprika at all)
150ml water (you can reduce or increase based of amount of sauce/soup you want - but dknt over do it)
1 cup spinach - finely chopped (you can add more spinach if you want)
1 tbsp olive oil (or normal cooking oil)
Method:
1. Stove on medium high: Heat your oil in a pan/pot till medium hot.
Then add in your onions, green pepper, crushed garlic & Chillis and bay leaves. Cook in oil for 30 - 45 seconds.
2. Add in your wors pieces + the rest of your peppers. Stir and fry for about 2 minutes or until your wors pieces are browned and medium cooked. [ Note: consider reducing heat or adding a bit or water if your pieces burns.]
3. Reduce heat to medium low- Add in your curry powder. Stir fry for about 30 seconds.
Then add in your spinach and tomatoes. Stir fry for about 2 - 3 minutes or until your spinach is medium cooked. Then cover.
4. Remove cover after 30 seconds to 1 minutes. Reduce heat to low. Add in your chicken stock. Stir in. Then add in smoked paprika. Stir /mix in your paprika. Then add water. Mix and cover for about 45 seconds -1 minutes or until the sauce.
Then you are done and ready to serve.
Enjoy
