The easiest homemade wings recipe.

You will need the following:

Spices:

  • 1.2 kg wings (fresh)
  • 1/4 Small Onion
  • 1 peeled and diced tomato (medium sized)
  • 1 tsp smoked chilli flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Crushed garlic
  • 1 tsp crushed Ginger
  • 2 tsp Ground Coriander
  • 1 tsp Ground pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1.5 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp Rubbed Oregano
  • 1 tsp Rubbed Thyme
  • 1 tsp Rubbed Basil
  • 1 tsp BBQ seasoning
  • 1 tsp Chicken spice
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper

Oils and other seasonings:

  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sweet chilli
  • 2 tbsp oil (for sauce)
  • Oil - for fry cooking wings- I used coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp steak house sauce (used Jimmy's)
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

METHOD:

1. The first stew is to fry cook your wings till they have 'medium cooked' and lightly browned in a pan (ideally you want to use a non sticky pan) . Do not use a lot of oil. I used about 2 tbsp of coconut oil to fry.

Remove from the pan and put in a container.

2. Second step is to cook the sauce/cravy like marinate: in the same pan used above, add your oil (only if you don't want to use the left over oil from frying. Otherwise remove the old oil and add fresh one). Then add your onions, garlic and ginger. Fry till yourr onions are translucent (1 to 2 min max). Then add your tomatoes, and all your spices.

3. Let the whole mix cook till your tomatoes have fully softened and blended with your spice. Feel free to add a tbsp or two of water eat time if feels like it's drying out to avoid burning your sauce.

Once your tomatoes have cook, add the rest of your ' other seasonings'. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes on low heat.

4. Once the flavours have been absorbed and you are happy with the salt and flavour-add your wings to the sauce.

At this point you are basically trying to get your wings to absort the sauce flavour on low heat. You can cover the pan- but make sure you stir regularly and avoid burning your sauce.

The sauce will keep thickening as you marinate your wings - you can add a tbsp or two to loosen it up if you want.

Your wings should be ready in 10-15minutes.

5. Serve as desired.

lenjoyed Dipping my wings in some sweet chilli sauce so you do the same with your favorite dip in sauce
