PERI-PERI CHICKEN WINGS 🍗 Honestly, the best! I used Peri-Peri sauce in Medium. What makes this recipe so cool is the versatility. If you like hotter wings than switch out the medium sauce for an extra hot sauce. If you want subtler wings then switch out the medium sauce for an extra mild sauce. I’m loving the medium sauce, and definitely sticking with it.
INGREDIENTS:
1.2 kg Chicken Wings
½ Tsp Salt
½ Tsp Black Pepper
2 Tbsp Baking Powder
150 ml Nando’s Peri-Peri Sauce (I used Medium)
½ Cup Butter
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1 Tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tbsp Honey
METHOD :
1. Preheat oven to 120 C (Yes, 120), prepare a large baking tray by coating with non-stick spray.
2. Decide how you want your chicken wings and prepare them by either leaving them whole or cutting them at the joints. Either way, dry them off and place them in a bowl. Add salt, pepper and baking powder.
3. Toss to combine, each chicken wing should be lightly coated. Place them in a single layer on the baking tray and bake at 120 C for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, increase the heat to 220 C and bake a further 45 minutes until wings are golden in colour then remove from oven.
4. Place a saucepan on medium heat. Add the Peri-Peri sauce, Butter, Lemon Juice, Worcestershire Sauce and Honey. Stir continuously until ingredients are have melded and pot is simmering, remove from heat.
5. In an ovenproof dish, add the chicken wings as well as the sauce, toss to combine and bake for 3 minutes. This will help your sauce stick to your wings. Remove from oven and enjoy.
