Dinawa le nama ya kgomo ka bogobe [ Beans and beef serve ld with pap] : an oldie 😋
Ingredients :
Cooked beans 1 cup
Stewing beef : +/- 300g
Onion half a medium and finely chopped
1 large tomato: peeled and chopped [for 'how to peel' tomato check out my IGTV]
Garlic and ginger crushed : 1 tsp
1 tsp Coriander leaves
1 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Rajah spice [ preferably mild spice]
1tsp tumeric powder
1tbsp paprika
2 x Bay leaves
Pinch garam masala
1 tsp sweet chilli sauce
1 knorr beef stock cube [ or just salt if you dotn have cubes]
Crushed pepper
Olive oil or cooking oil [ 1-2 tbsp]
Water +/-450ml [ adjust depending on how well done you want your meat and how much soup you want]
Method:
-In a pan, brown your beef [ recommended: use about 1 tbsp of olive oil/normal oil] -Remove from heat once browned and set aside in a container/bowl. -In the same pan, add onions and crushed garlic ginger. You can add 1 tsp to 1 tbsp at this point if your pan is dry. Otherwise don't add more oil. - Cook your onions till light brown and then add your tomatoes, tumeric, Coriander lesves, Coriander powder, paprika, pepper, rajah and let your cravy cook till its 'well done' /tomatoes are cooked and well blended with the spices. - Now add your beans, meat pieces, water, bay leaves, sweet chilli and salt/knorr cubes to the stew.
Cover and let it cook on medium heat for about 15-20 minutes or until the meat is cooked and soup has thickened Add pinch of garam masala and let it simmer for 2-5 minutes on low heat.
Remove from heat and serve with pap, bread or anything your would prefer to enjoy with.
You can add peri peri of you want or even use it to garnish your soup /stew
