Make basic broccoli salad amazing with red onion, bacon, grapes and
raisins, pecans, and Homemade Mayonnaise. I often make this salad for barbecues
and other get-togethers with friends, and it is always a hit!
2 heads of broccoli
1 red onion
½ pound cooked bacon slices
1 pound red grapes
½ cup raisins
½ cup pecans
1 cup Homemade Mayonnaise or store-bought
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
¼ cup pure maple syrup
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Cut the broccoli florets into bite-size pieces and place in a medium bowl. Finely chop the onion and add to the bowl. Chop the bacon and add to the bowl. Slice the grapes in half and add to the bowl, then sprinkle on the raisins. Toast the pecans if you wish (it’s not necessary), roughly chop, and add to the bowl.
In a small bowl, whisk together the mayo, vinegar, maple syrup, and
garlic powder. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss to combine. Cover and
refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors meld.
